How To Get A Great Full-Body Workout With Kickboxing
True kickboxing began in Asia over 2,000 years ago. Although, the traditional kickboxing that people see is the competitive kickboxing created by American karate experts in the 70′s.
While you may not want to be a competitive kickboxer, kickboxing can be an excellent workout. Cardio kickboxing is a very popular form of aerobic exercise, for good reason. This workout has many benefits to the body and because it is the cardio version and not the competitive version, there is no risk from full contact fighting.
One of the best things about cardio kickboxing is that as an exercise it is phenomenal. You will get an amazing full body workout from it. It does not just work your arms or legs as so many other exercises do, it works everything. Like most exercise sessions, cardio kickboxing will start with at least 10 minutes of warm ups which includes anything from stretching to push ups, but then you embark on a high energy workout session that includes workouts that target your entire body (punches, strikes, kicks, jumps). All of the these moves work you from your core out. When starting kickboxing, just remember to start slow, it is a very intense workout.
