If you participate in physical sports, such as kickboxing, it is important to make sure that you always eat the correct foods. Many people get out there on the practice mat and end up burning themselves out or find that they are unable to get through their training without taking too many breaks. This is likely because they do not know how to properly nourish their bodies before going out there and giving it their all. A good diet of proteins, carbohydrates and the proper vitamins will have you getting through that workout in no time at all.The whole story can be found at http://atrilife.wordpress.com/2011/09/22/best-prepost-endurance-workout-meals-you-already-have/ You will have so much extra energy, you may end up having to extend that workout even longer.

Nothing beats getting a good pre-workout and post-workout protein shake. You should always make sure to have one of these at least before workout time. There is still some debate on how effective the post-workout shake is, but many people to this day continue to swear by it. It is also recommended to eat a lot of healthy carbohydrates before working out because this will help you get through it with no problems. Also, stock up on essentials like Fish Oil and other supplements to ensure the best kickboxing workout possible.

Japanese kickboxing is basically the term used to define or call various types of martial arts and combat sports that mostly involve kicking and boxing. There are many different types of Japanese kickboxing such as K1 and many others. K1 is a combination of Karate styles including Seidokaikan and Kyokushin. K1 is different from other Japanese kickboxing styles because apart from the fact that it allows knee strikes, it also permits the players to kick the knees and other parts of the body of their opponent.

Muay Thai, on the other hand, is a form of martial arts from Thailand. It is from the combination of the ancient battlefield techniques used in Thailand such as Krabi Krabong and Muay Boran. Muay Thai is different from Japanese kickboxing in the sense that there are eight limbs used as weapons in this form of martial arts. Aside from the use of the knee as a weapon, Muay Thai allows the players to use their elbows.

Muay Thai differs from Japanese kickboxing because of the techniques used. Japanese kickboxing focuses mostly on looking for a clean strike and movability, while Muay Thai permits the use of elbows, knees, and the technique called “clinch work” to beat their opponent.

Kickboxing is an excellent martial art for those that are considering self-defense. The art incorporates the hand strikes from boxing, but adds kicks in to make it even more effective in self-defense and physical combat situations. Mastering the art of kickboxing takes years of practice and dedication. It also takes finding a good instructor to show you the ins and outs of kickboxing. But how do you find a good kickboxing instructor? Let’s take a look at some of the things you should do to find a good instructor.

Visit a couple of their kickboxing classes. See how they instruct their students and what equipment they have available to train with. Some instructors will even let you participate in a complementary class before deciding if you want to sign up. Talk to the students and see what they think about the instructor. What is his teaching style? Is he patient? Does he take the time out to work with students individually? Does he have quality assistants that help with kickboxing instruction? These are a few of the questions that you want answered when looking for a good kickboxing instructor.

Find a kickboxing instructor that has a good reputation and that has students that are happy with his services.

Kickboxing has been around for a long time. There are different forms of kickboxing such as traditional kickboxing and Muay Thai, but no matter which form you are talking about, they are all formidable martial arts. Perhaps that is why kickboxing is such a big part of mixed martial arts. Kickboxing helped develop the sport of mixed martial arts.

How did kickboxing help develop mixed martial arts? Well kickboxing is a striking art that basically combines boxing with kicks. Kicks help create greater distance between fighters, much more so when compared to simply striking with your hands. This distance helps to keep a grapper at a distance and can help a person avoid being taken down to the mat. So when mixed martial arts was forming, kickboxing was the art that many turned to for the striking components needed for mixed martial arts. They wanted direct movements, and some karate and kung fu strikes are way to elaborate. Kickboxing combines speed, power and efficiency.

Often when you watch mixed martial arts you will see fighters make use of the teep kick. The teep is basically like a jab with a leg and comes from kickboxing. That serves as a reminder to how kickboxing helped develop mixed martial arts.

When most people hear about kick boxing they assume that it is one style and that is it. Really kick boxing offers five different styles. These different styles include Muay Thai, American Kickboxing, Japanese kickboxing, Indian Kickboxing and French Kickboxing.

Muay Thai is the type of kickboxing that all other types are compared too. This type of kick boxing originates in Thailand and tends to be a bit more permissive then the other forms. Although it is based in Thailand it also has various fighting techniques from various parts of the world. American Kickboxing does not allow for hitting below the waist of using elbows or knees. American Kickboxing remains kid friendly and fairly low impact. Japanese Kickboxing is similar to Muay Thai with the most noticeable difference being in how it is scored and the length of the rounds. A few other subtle differences exist in the style itself. Indian kickboxing is less known then the other version of kickboxing but it is gaining popularity because of its intensity. It is much more rough then the other varieties with more complex maneuvers. Lastly like American Kickboxing French Kickboxing is one of the more low key versions. The foot is allowed but not the knee. French kickboxing remains the safest of all the different varieties.
