What Are The Five Most Popular Styles Of Kickboxing?
When most people hear about kick boxing they assume that it is one style and that is it. Really kick boxing offers five different styles. These different styles include Muay Thai, American Kickboxing, Japanese kickboxing, Indian Kickboxing and French Kickboxing.
Muay Thai is the type of kickboxing that all other types are compared too. This type of kick boxing originates in Thailand and tends to be a bit more permissive then the other forms. Although it is based in Thailand it also has various fighting techniques from various parts of the world. American Kickboxing does not allow for hitting below the waist of using elbows or knees. American Kickboxing remains kid friendly and fairly low impact. Japanese Kickboxing is similar to Muay Thai with the most noticeable difference being in how it is scored and the length of the rounds. A few other subtle differences exist in the style itself. Indian kickboxing is less known then the other version of kickboxing but it is gaining popularity because of its intensity. It is much more rough then the other varieties with more complex maneuvers. Lastly like American Kickboxing French Kickboxing is one of the more low key versions. The foot is allowed but not the knee. French kickboxing remains the safest of all the different varieties.
